Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network. Anne Burrell, a Food Network presenter with her distinctive spiky blonde hair and a exuberant personality, shares easy to learn techniques and eliminates anxiety about restaurant food in her show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell has worked at New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary practices and the landscape. Also, she was a contestant on Iron Chef America on Food Network. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step after she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English as well as Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is where I spent the most enjoyable time of my life. I was unable to learn enough, didn't accomplish enough, and I couldn't put in the effort enough. After graduating, Burrell spent one year in Italy studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and worked in the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. It was during this time that her experience in Italy allowed her to comprehend and appreciate Italian way of life and its culture and this has left an impact on her own food and culinary experience. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists children with obstacles. In her capacity as a speaker, Burrell travels across the nation to talk about her love of food as well as her career in the culinary field. Anne was always grateful that she could share the passion that she had for cooking with others.
